| One of the most recorded tubists ever, Sam has received critical and popular acclaim for his recording and performances heard with Travelling Light, his tuba/guitar jazz duo. A former member of the famous Empire Brass Quintet, he has performed all over the world. Known for his boundless enthusiasm and terrific artistry, he is in constant demand as a soloist and clinician. He is a member of the faculty of the Arizona State University School of Music. His expertise in recording is used by Symphonia, for Sam serves as the group's unofficial Tonemeister.
