Title: Flower Duet from Lakme, by Delibes
Tim Morris and Dave Werden, euphoniums, and Sara Brunk, piano, performing a duet originally written for sopranos. The duet is from Lakme, by Delibes, arranged for euphoniums and piano by Adam Frey. Tim is playing the first euphonium part. The sheet music we used is available from: http://www.euphonium.com/store/index....
Tim and I are both playing Adams Custom euphonium, made of yellow and gold brass, with a sterling silver bell. The instruments are hand-made in Holland. Learn more here: http://www.dwerden.com/forum/showthre...
Tim is a student of mine who is currently attending the University of Wisconsin, Madison. His recent honors include winning the 2012 Falcone International Euphonium Competition and the 2013 Midwest Regional Tuba and Euphonium Conference's Young Artist Competition.
David Werden was euphonium soloist with The U.S. Coast Guard Band for 26 years, and has performed on live national television, in movie soundtracks, and on international radio broadcasts. He has also played with the Classic Brass Band, Sheldon Theater Brass Band, the New York Philharmonic, the Minnesota Orchestra, and on broadcasts of A Prairie Home Companion. He has taught euphonium at the University of Connecticut and the University of Minnesota, and is currently teaching private euphonium lessons in the Twin Cities area. He has published dozens of arrangements and four books, and has written several magazine and journal articles. In 1980 he became the first American to be named "Euphonium Player of the Year" and in 2012 he was honored with ITEA's Lifetime Achievement Award.
The recording was made with a Canon digital camcorder, an Audio-Technica AT-825 stereo microphone, and a portable digital audio recorder
