Piano Part for Boda Sonatina for Euphonium and Synthesizer

I'm looking for more information on the the Boda Sonatina for Euphonium and Synthesizer, specifically the piano reduction of the synthesizer part that Dr. Boda wrote in 1972. I'd like to make the Boda Sonatina part of my DMA capstone and perform and record both the electronic and acoustic versions, but as far as I can tell, the piano reduction was never published, and the only copy is the original manuscript held at the FSU music library. Is this the case, or are there other copies floating around out there? And if it was never published, who would the current copyright holder be? FSU special collections won't allow scans or photographs of their materials without the copyright holder's consent.

I was the one who first contracted with John to publish the piece with recorded synthesizer. That's while I was running Whaling Music Publishers. In the 1990's I turned over all rights to Cimarron Music. On their site I see the original version, but no mention of a piano. However, it seems like I heard some talk about that a while back, probably from Cimarron. I suggest you contact them:

Thanks for the info! I actually tracked down a few copies of the edition you had published under Whaling Music to get a clean version of the audio track, since I prefer the sound of the original tape to Cimarron's remastered version.

In your performances, you've used a mute at section where you're playing a duet with the recording of Earle Louder. Was that at Boda's suggestion, or was that your own idea to drop your volume into the texture of the accompaniment?

The latter. The original on-tape melody was recorded by Earle Louder, I believe. I'm guessing that the overdubbing that went into the master caused Earle's volume to be reduced. Using the mute helped restore the duet effect.

At some point while publishing it, I overdubbed Earle myself to add to his volume, but I don't recall when that would have been exactly.
