    Adams Factory Visits

Has anyone here been to the Adams factory? (I believe Dave and Doug (Daruby) have been there, but they have personal relationships with Miel, so that's a little different than a non-endorser/dude like me just "wanting" to go)

I'm interested in the idea of actually being able to go to the factory and play some different options before actually selecting them to be put on a horn. There are so many options, it can feel a little like shooting in the dark picking them.

Is this something Adams allows/does to anyone's knowledge?

    Thanks,
    Mike

Yes, that is something they support. Note that the factory is in the same building as their store, where they carry other brands as well.

It would be good to first check with them about when they might have the best collection of Adams models in the store. For example, if there were a large festival somewhere and Adams had a display, the store stock might be less.

  3. Mike,

You absolutely can go and the store is quite extensive. I think right now there isn't a lot of euphonium inventory, but I know they can do a great job. You can call the store direct and indicate what your history with the brand is (that helps) and then what you would like to accomplish. They can work with you on a schedule. Keep in mind that things are pretty well closed down starting the last week of July thru the last week of August.

I reached out to Miel, and he suggested that we'd need to plan 8 months to a year out, which is all good for me.

They're also going to be at Midwest, which is in my neck of the woods, so that'll be cool.

Incidentally, if anyone wants to get together at Midwest, the first beverage is on me.

    Thanks,
    Mike

It's mostly music education focused, but has a pretty robust group of exhibitors.

Admission maybe, but for me personally, it's a three-hour drive to Chicago vs. a plane ticket and hotel room in San Antonio. And Midwest is essentially in Mike's backyard!
