Just watched an excellent interview of Michael Colburn by TubaDylan at the IET Festival four years ago. It begins when and how Mr. Colburn first got interested in music at age 3 or 4 playing his older brother's sousaphone. He gives a lot of credit to studying with Daniel Parantoni at Arizona State. Very informative on the day-to-day operation of the "President's Own" U.S. Marine Band where he was a member for 27 years. He played euphonium for several years, then assistant director for 8 years and conductor for 10 years. He's now director of bands at Butler University.
