New (?) H & B Practice Mannie Klein Sh Sh Mute

I am looking for a practice mute on a budget. I know it will have an impact on the intonation. I found this one:

It is marked new. Has anyone tried one of these?

    Thanks.

It's usable if you accept limitations. The low range and high range are stuffy, but to some extent any practice mute does that. This one is worse, but it is much cheaper. I used one for a while; it was all I had and kept me out of trouble in hotel rooms, etc.

There is one that would cost you about $100 with shipping from the U.K. and comes from a well-regarded mute maker. It will fit inside the horn within most hard cases, too, which would be an advantage. If you can stand the extra cost you might be glad you did:

But you need to have money for food and such - otherwise you'll be too weak to play loud enough to need a practice mute!

If your using the mute just for practice at home, then do yourself a favor and get the Wick Euphonium stainless steel straight mute. I don't know what you meant by "budget", but the Wick will provide excellent intonation and would consider it an investment.
