Title: Bon-Accord Silver Band

Bon-Accord Silver Band playing 'neath the Dublin Skies by Paul Lovatt-Cooper

This piece features our principal Euphonium - Richard Kidd.

This piece is in three sections: moderate/slow/fast. It incorporates all the typical Irish elements of a night in Dublin, starting with a taste of a haunting Irish air that makes its full appearance in the middle of the piece. We then move into an Irish reel that sets the tone for a foot tapping virtuosity by the soloist. After some muti-phonics by the soloist the piece then leads back to the haunting Irish melody, this time heard in the middle of the piece in its entirety. 'Neath the Dublin Skies then finishes with a high spirited jig that gets faster and faster concluding in a flourish.

Recorded at Queens Cross Parish Church on 12th September 2010.
