Spoonerisms

The term "Spoonerism" (exchanging syllables between words in a phrase, as in 'ket of seas' instead of 'set of keys') was named for Reverend W. A. Spooner (1844-1930), Dean of New College, Oxford. Examples:

"A well-boiled icicle"

"A scoop of boy trouts"

and my favorite, "You have hissed all my mystery lectures and tasted a whole
worm."
