Thread: Ordering a Cronkhite Gig Bag

  1. #11
The black cordura I ordered for a tuba arrived last Friday. It took about 10 weeks (never sent an email).

To close the loop, my bag arrived this week. Just under 4 months from order to opening the box.

Dave - If you don't mind sharing what type of bag did you get? Cordura or leather?

I don't mind at all! (Once I have time I'll do a blog post with details and a comparison with the Altieri.)

Even though it weighs (and costs) a bit more I went with leather. I feel it offers better protection. I liked the various colors they offer, but since all my other stuff (Altieri music bag, hard case, electronic gear, etc.) is black, I went "understated" and got solid black leather.

Thanks for sharing. I'm sure its beautiful. I purchased an upright bass violin bag earlier this summer in green cordura. Very happy with it.
Is there much upkeep on leather to keep it from drying out? They are beautiful bags.

Cronkhite says just to use some Kiwi Leather Lotion (or similar) a couple times a year.

Here is a photo; it shows my mouthpiece pouch partway into the storage pocket, but otherwise you get a good view of the case.
