Euphonium cleaning

How do all of you rate the various instrument cleaning methods? I have done bathtub cleaning a few times, but mostly I take it to a shop once a year for a professional job. But, I've used 3 different shops and have found one now that seems to do the best job over the other 2, so apparently not all shops are equal. I've never used the QHR system, nor have I used a water hose alone to rinse it out. What is your experience with QHR compared to bathtub and professional shop? Thanks in advance.

Additional information: our section leader uses Hydro-Jet M1" by Meinlschmidt company, which he says does the job nicely.

I've not heard of the 'Hydro-Jet M1' before. That looks interesting. Reminds me of a type hose Roto-Rooter would use to clean out waste drains but on a much smaller scale.

I do a twice-year bathtub cleaning, an annual ultrasonic clean at the local music store and in between use Spitballs to keep inside of horn clean. Those spitballs work better than anything else I've found at getting rid of gunk without resorting to the QHR.

My nearest shop that does ultrasonic cleaning is over two hours away…

Not sure if that will ever be worth the hassle of arranging drop off and pick up.

I found a video on using the "Hydro-Jet M1" and it looks like a good idea, but it appears the hose is a bit too stiff to make many turns. In the video linked below, the guy first tries inserting it into his lead-pipe of his Sousaphone, but can't make the first turn. Going in where the tuning slide normally resides works a bit better. If the hose was more flexible I think it would work better.

You'd want the smaller, thinner and more flexible S1 version for your euphonium. (link)

Seen this video a couple times. I use the Hagerty's spray, and it is definitely a must have. 1.9 million views since 2016!
