    FS: Various Mouthpieces

Downsizing my mouthpiece "collection" since I don't really like having a "collection," lol.

These are all either in brand-new or extremely lightly used condition. All are large shank. Price includes postage within the US.

    Large Shank
    Warburton Gail Robertson: $100
Warburton Gail Robertson gold plated: $150
Shires 5D (their version of the 51D): $80
    Shires 5D gold plated: $140

    Small Shank
    Shires 7C: $100
    Schilke 51D: $50

    Tuba
PT-48 (I have two of these): $100 each

Also have an Austin Custom Brass MV 3C Special trumpet mouthpiece available: $100

Paypal, Venmo, Zelle, Cashapp all accepted. Thanks!

Hello Sean, how does the Shires 5D differ from the original Schilke 51D? ... Physically, playability, intonation, tone/timbre across the range?

In my experience, the Shires line tend to feel/play just a little "bigger" than their Schilke or Bach counterparts. That's about the best explanation I can give, ha.

My Q41s came with the Shires 5G mouthpiece. My beloved PT-7C didn't feel right with the horn (could be how it lines up in the receiver / gap)...but the 5G mpc is GREAT!

That's really interesting; my horn came with the 5D. Everywhere I'd read, the horn is supposed to come with the Shires 5G, and couldn't find any info about the 5D. I wonder why mine came with the 5D? I don't think it's older; its serial number seems higher than all the demo units Dillon has sold (they're coming close, though).

Another interesting thing is I also have a willson 51D (euro shank) from when I briefly owned a 2900 about 15 years ago. Both the 5D and the 51D are very deep, and are a good bit deeper than the Schilke 52D I own. Very interesting, indeed.

Thank you so much Sean for the 5D vs original 51D info.
