    High register endurance

I've worked hard on my high register -- defined by me as ease in reaching TC A, B, C above the staff. I'm much better than I used to be and can usually execute A without much trouble -- as well as hold it and work back and forth from A to G. I normally don't encounter B and above in our band music. My question for you is on increasing the endurance in the register. After an hour or so of practice or toward the end of a concert, even the A becomes less secure. What are your tips on practicing that will allow me to hit my high range securely even after a few hours of serious playing? Just FYI, I'm 77 and a comeback player -- playing now for about 6 years after 50 yrs of no playing.
