  2. That's nice! You've got me chuckling. I saw the name Bramwell and laughed because it's a British name for a British horn. I'd like to see more euphonium names.

I don’t name my horns. I’m also a avid motorcyclist…and never understood assigning names (and even gender) to a vehicle. (And, believe me, I am quite fond of my horns and my bikes!)

Thanks. I was 16 when I named him. Bramwell and Margaret are both British so it’s quite fitting.

All this talk about showing off your horns and i realized I’ve neglected my 1906 Henry Distin. Junior was my first horn back in 1987. It came with everything. Horn. Mouthpiece. Lyre. Some weird metal loopy thing which extends the length of the horn. HP/LP?

I’ll give him a good polish and then send him off to get serviced. Still plays and sounds fantastic. Will post more as the cleaning progresses.

Here are some better pix of my '66 NS. Satin silver overall with gold plated small items and bell interior.

You can see the trigger system as finished, and some of the development stages.

It operates with the left hand lower fingers, and tunes easily with a thumbwheel. It is a coaxial tubing slide, so tuning doesn't effect the trigger connection unlike most other schemes.

The black items on the slide are soft O-rings to cushion upon the release of the trigger.

It is much easier for me to operate than using a 'crooked thumb'.

It also inherited a new Prestige large shank leadpipe.

The last shot was a Tucson Tuba Christmas, it was just plain hot that December day.

Is anyone else thinking that the silver horn with gold slides is really attractive with the satin silver finish?
