I found the audio recording of this concert!!! The cassette is good quality. Looks like a legit recording company was used.

I wonder if they’re still in business.

My local library (well... three towns over) has a music transfer station where you can convert tapes or CDs to MP3s on a thumb drive. You just have to be willing to hit play, then wait an hour.
Maybe your library has something similar.

We are playing this with my local community band this semester.

Still looking for the urtext version of the First Suite in Eb. None of my music store contacts have had any luck…

What publisher would choose to release a public domain work when it will immediately go up on imslp? They'll sell just one set.

They could always make minor changes. It my understanding that there are some simple mistakes in the urtext score. Could they not correct the errors, clean things up an release it for profit?

There are recording from MULTIPLE groups on YouTube using the original scoring and instrumentation. So it must be available some how / some way.

Then you have a list of groups whose music librarians you could contact.

                  Good point!

Most of the recordings are from the 70s…. Hopefully they hold on to everything!!

We’ll see what the New England Conservatory of Music still has from 1976…and the U.S. Coast Guard Band from 1981!

You can check Moravian College in Bethlehem, PA. This recording as almost 35 years ago. They'd still have the music in their library, I'd assume.

Well, I’m actually looking for the urtext version of Holst’s 1st Suite in Eb.
Turning out to be a daunting task.

Someone directed me to the Library of Congress. That seems to may be the ticket.

The NEC video starts out with a thank-you to the student copyist who wrote out all parts from the score. So beware of what you might find at the LoC. The original is in the British Library, if you want to take a trip.
Apparently, they (British Library) are in the process of digitizing their manuscripts and putting them online. This was shut down (temporarily?) a few months ago by a cyberattack. I don't know if they have done 1st Suite yet or not.

I'm fine with some work. I've got hoards of college music students at my disposal and some music faculty that I am SURE would love to assign some extra credit to the task. LOL
