Waiting on one for my Q41s and for my Virtuoso (it actually has a heavy bottom cap, as well as what appears to be an earlier iteration of this product...but I like the look of the new ones better! ).

Was getting ready to pull the trigger on one for my 5050 and double-checked my horn, only to discover, the tunning trigger linkage over hangs onto the current 4th valve cap, almost touching it. Based on the dimensions of the ABC cap I don't think it will work now...bummer. I'm glad I double-checked.

  3. I ordered one on 9 Jan. and it arrived to me on the US West Coast this past Saturday. In retrospect, that was horrible timing with respect to the hack at Royal Mail and all the promotion from Glenn. However, I'm loving it!

    Hi Dan,

Good move to 'check before you buy'. I tried a stock heavy cap from Miraphone years ago. I didn't notice any difference in sound or response. Also when installed I couldn't get to the valve trough capsule to empty it.

mine should arrive today! I think I ordered January 6 or 7. When it made it to the local USPS facility, then went to the status of "on the way to the next facility," I was afraid it was going the way of the sheet music I ordered at the end of December which is now stuck somewhere in NY, despite having arrived locally from the Netherlands January 13th....

Welp, I just opened it up and was excited to attach it to my horn, but lo and behold, it is FAR too large to fit.

I guess I'll be waiting a while longer for mine, ordered on 25 January.

What is in the way? And have you tried taking off one or two of the weights?

I have one on order for my Q41s as well. I’ve had no issues with these on the E3, 274, and 374.

Too big as in not the correct cap for the Shires horn?

Correct, the diameter of the cap is literally almost big enough to fit AROUND the stock cap. Nothing is in the way length-wise, so hopefully they just sent me the wrong one and you get the correct size!
