Thread: New Innovation for Comfy Euph Strap

New Innovation for Comfy Euph Strap

In order to allow more mounting flexibility for the hand strap, Valerie has made a prototype using 2 thinner straps for the mounting piece (that goes around the tube). I tested it and found it could be moved higher on my horn despite 2 braces that would otherwise be too close to allow an easy attachment in that position. The two straps seem just as secure, so I don't see a drawback (other than taking another few seconds to fasten it to the horn). Here is a video demonstrating it:

    Thanks for the alert, Dave.
The two-strap system provides just that much more adjustment flexibility, even in the case of single-brace horns (like my Sterling).
I would've preferred the two-strap initially, but I've acclimated to the old style. I'm tempted to pick up the two-strap, but as you noted, the straps are high quality and hold up very well, so I've no need yet for a replacement.

I've ordered a few of these (the single strap version). Having Valerie make a custom one for me right now. GREAT customer service!

Dave, that seems like a really useful modification that Valerie worked up for you. She did a similar double strap version for me to help get the hand loop lower below the outer brace on my Schiller and it worked fantastically. A more detailed discussion of that strap with photos can be found in another Comfy Euph Strap thread on this forum if anyone is interested.

I agree that Valerie has excellent customer service and is great at modifying her straps to fit individual needs!

I bought one in 2019 for my Besson Prestige and I have never removed it: really comfortable and useful. This new model would not fit the Prestige as the two joining brackets are too close together and I had to make a small modification to the original ones in order to fit them comfortably on the 2052.
Now I'm having my wife make one to put on the New Standard on the model that Valerie (she doesn't resent me but the cost plus shipping to Italy is a bit too exaggerated) made for aroberts 781.
I'm posting photos of what I modified for the Prestige so, if anyone wants it for this specific euphonium, they can have it custom made.
