Several have mentioned here that JP ships a Wick 4AL with their euphoniums. However, they sure looking and feel like Wick SM4U mpcs to me!



On the mouthpiece front, here are the others I am currently still dancing with and/or willing to sell.

I agree that they look like SM4U mouthpiece blanks. Often we don't allow for the difference the blank's shape can make. You could replicate a 4AL inside one of those blanks and to your chops it would feel like a 4AL. But the sound output would be different - in my experience, less "open" on the SM blank, but with a bit more center.

Perhaps some of us are using the "4AL" term loosely to talk about a class???

I don't have calipers to do exact measuring...but they "look" the same inside as well (and starkly different from both my 4AL and "heritage" 4AL internally).

Perhaps I'll ask JP and see what they say.

Got confirmation that they are, indeed, unbranded SM4U mpcs.
