First picture of my "new" Adams E3 with top sprung valves

As many of you know, my Adams E3 short action valve prototype has been at the factory since late July, getting a new bell, new lead pipe, and repairs and upgrades to other parts of the horn. The major changes are a new .60 Sterling Silver bell, a rd brass lead pipe, and custom engraving on the bell. I now have a picture of the horn to share:

Ok, ok. Yes, the horn is packed inside that box and is being shipped from the Netherlands as we speak. As soon as I receive it and have had a chance to play it, I will post updates with the actual picture of the horn.

You've got me interested. Red brass leadpipe, huh? I thought you were going to do a sterling silver leadpipe, but I may have that wrong. Why red brass? I had the sterling silver leadpipe added recently, and I have grown to like it. Took a bit to get used to.

I definitely like the new trigger/main slide changes. Stops any drips you might have had coming from the main slide. But as I have said before, I rarely use the trigger, the horn plays so well in tune.

Funny to see a packing box for your Adams. I just today put my Adams shipping box out at the end of the driveway for the recycling folks to take. We have just unpacked what we had in it for our move to Florida and having less storage space here than we did in S.D., we are getting rid of empty boxes (even though they might be useful down the road).

I'm anxious to see pictures. Fun, isn't it?

News Update!!!

As of noon today (Friday, November 25), my Adams E3 is in a UPS warehouse in Louisville, KY. Scheduled delivery is Monday, Nov. 28. I have rehearsal that evening. Here is hoping it is delivered before my rehearsal.

Still in the warehouse, hung up in customs. I spoke with UPS and gave them the needed information. Here is hoping I get it by the end of the week.
