Thumbs up FS: Nice Bargain on a Willson 2900BT

The horn looks quite sound, but has plenty of "normal" wear - scratches, some minor dents, silver wear. But it is priced VERY fairly and includes the Willson hard case. It has a large shank receiver. Price is $3,695, which is good for a fully-professional instrument.

ITEM APPARENTLY SOLD. NO MORE INFO GIVEN

So, with the “2900TA”, the “TA” stands for “Top Action”, right?

If so, what does “BT” in the “2900BT” stand for? Does it have to do with it taking large shank mouthpieces? (Since the 2900 usually takes the medium/euro shank?)

I believe TA = Top Action as you mentioned. Similarly, Willson seems to use "FA" for Front Action on their instruments. (ex. 3400FA-5, with 5 referring to the number of valves on the tuba)

My medium/euro shank 2900 is stamped with "2900TA-1" on the mouthpiece receiver.

BT I think is indeed designating "Bass Trombone" (large) shank. The Horn Guys have a listing for the 2900/2950 that has some info on the various letter designations:
    https://hornguys.com/collections/ten...on-euphonium-1
    Willson 2900 TA-1 Euphonium - Denis Wick 4AM
Yamaha YSL-643 Trombone - Bob Reeves BrassArk 5G "Gladstone"
    Yamaha YSL-8440 Trombone - Denis Wick 5BS
VMI 3301S BBb Tuba - Schilke Helleberg

Benge 165F Trombone - Benge Marcellus
    Wessex BR140 Baritone - Denis Wick 6BS
