    Details on BE967GS-2-0 model number

    Hello,

In the Besson model designation BE967GS-2-0, what does the “GS-2-0” stand for?

Is there is certain date of manufacture range for these instruments?

Hmmm. I know that 967 is the 12" bell. And that "-2" is the silver-plated finish.

Time to go fishing for the rest of the information......

        Interesting…

Fun fact: nobody seems to know anymore what “GS” stands for, it might have been “Gold Standard” or “Grand Sovereign”.

I can vaguely remember that GS means Grand Sovereign, and that's either what they called the first Sovereigns after taking the name over from Boosey or after reacquiring York. I might be making this up though
