    AGR maintenance question

What grease do folks use for the AGR? Also, do you just screw the AGR entirely off and apply grease? (I haven't looked to see if it easily comes all the way off or not.)

I just use slide grease, but I stay with synthetic grease because I think it will do better when just "sitting around" for long periods.

The AGR barrel comes off if you just keep turning it. I take it off, clean the threads, and then apply grease to the inner threads on the barrel and reassemble.

Thanks Dave. I’ll probably do some cleaning and detailing this weekend and will make sure to grease the AGR.

No maintenance on mine. Every now and then I’ll loosen the set screw and receiver to make sure they move freely. I just had my tech clean the horn but I’m not sure if he did anything to the AGR. He did polish both the inside and outside of the slides.
