Former New York Staff Bandmaster and composer Brian Bowen.

Former New York Staff Bandmaster and composer Brian Bowen passed away on Friday. During the NYSB retreat the week before, BM Ron Waiksnoris said he was in communication with Brian and he was not feeling well.

Brian was the BM who auditioned me into the NYSB. He was a kind heart who did not like to write for 2nd baritone. LOL. (I would tease him about this)..

if I can find additional information I'll make sure to post it.

Bowen also wrote a nice piece for euphonium called "Euphonium Music." I believe he did versions for euph with brass band and euph with piano or organ.
