Hello everyone,
Over the course of the past year, I have been working on quite an exciting project which I am really excited to finally share with you all today.
I wanted to pay a small tribute to the actions of the men of The 1/6th Battalion, The Royal Warwickshire Regiment who on Friday 18th August 1916, conducted a successful attack at Ovillers La Boisselle in conjunction with other Warwickshire battalions from The 143rd Infantry Brigade.
I decided to explore creating a multimedia project which started due to the support of director John Watts who allowed me to use some of the unused scenes from his recent film, 'The War Below', which was combined with a specially commissioned piece of text that was written by historian Paul Reed and recorded by voice actor Nigel Francis. The final aspect of this project was a bespoke piece of music that was written for this short film by the very talented composer Karl Whelan who adapted the sound of the Euphonium to fit in with a traditional film style score. I wanted to take this opportunity to thank all the individuals who supported me in bringing this project to life.
I really hope that you enjoy this unique tribute to all of the men who served with The 1/6th Battalion, The Royal Warwickshire Regiment between July 1916 and March 1917.
