Thread: FS: Very nice Besson Prestige 2051 in Silver

Question FS: Very nice Besson Prestige 2051 in Silver

This one is in beautiful shape from the photos shown. It is silver with gold trim and is shown with an HBC heavy 4th valve bottom cap. The case shown looks like a Bonna (or something very similar). Bid is now $6299, which is a large discount from new, and you are giving up very little in condition. If it doesn't go too much higher it will be a fine bargain. (There are many more photos in the listing.)

This is the 2051 that was discussed some time ago that was previously owned by Patrick Schultz.

    It is of British manufacture.

The standard weight valve cap is also in the case, which is a JP case.

It plays well, and the valves are in good shape. It just wasn't the right horn for me, which is why I sold it to Quinn, who has listed it.

  3. How would you say the 2051 sounds? I have a friend who wants to upgrade to one. She’s currently on a Yamaha Neo, but hasn’t been able to test a Besson.

    This is incredibly subjective.

It sounds like a besson. I don't mean that sarcatically - it has the characteristic british singing quality.

What doesn't she like about the Neo?

Is this the solo euph for Frontier? She sounds amazing on the Neo and already gets a very beautiful british sound with that Wick ultra mp. That being said, aside from adjusting to intonation differences, a 2051 could really fit her nicely if that's the sound she wants to continue striving for.

  6. Haha this is not, I sent this listing to her and was trying to find out more about it! I’ll be the TA at the University of Oklahoma where she will be going in the fall! She’s been looking for a Besson and wanted to know how it compares to the Neo.
