Thread: Pain in left hand from operating trigger

  1. Pain in left hand from operating trigger

    Hello,

I have recently begun playing on a Besson Sovereign with a trigger, and experience some pain in my left palm after prolonged operation of it. I was wondering if there might be something incorrect about my hand placement/technique while operating it. I recently ordered a ComfyHandStrap in hopes of using it to alleviate some pain. Any advice is welcomed! I attached images of my hand placement and where I feel the pain.

See an ortho doc and get an xray to see if you are getting a bone buildup (osteoarthritis) between the trapezium bone (one of the small bones in the wrist) and the thumb metacarpal bone. I do have osteoarthritis there, and it causes pain in the area that you have marked out.

One simple thing to try is to use your middle finger instead of your index finger to operate the 4th valve. Assuming that is comfortable, it might change the angle/stress enough to help.

I never liked the thumb trigger found on most euphs.

I and Dan Oberloh designed this alternative on my Besson.

It operates via my 4&5 left fingers

These shots were taken before final finish and plating, then the final look.
