Can't Take My Eyes Off You - arr. Toshio Mashima

I'd like to share a live recording of a recent piece we played for our 'Big Band' concert last month at Duncan Theatre in Lake Worth, Florida. There's nothing special for low brass but our principal flutist, Tracy, did a fantastic job! It's the sort of solo you might have paid a professional to come in and play with a community band, but Tracy (a paralegal by trade) spent her own money to get some private lessons via Zoom from her teacher in New York City. It really paid off!. I'm hoping our board of directors decide to link it to video as I think it's very worthy.

Very nice. Compliments to your principal flutist, Tracy. Great job!

That was good flute playing (I assume a written-out part??). For that matter, the whole band sounded really fine. Special kudos to the French horns!

Thanks for the comments Dave and enhite. Yes, it was a ‘written-out’ part’ for the flute soloist but challenging for sure.

I think we had 6 horns playing at that concert. Several ‘rips’ for them, but sounded really good to me. Toshio Mashima writes some really nice arrangements too.

    A great performance by all.

What euph is the other player using, Rick?

Thanks Dennis. I forget the model number of his euph but it's an older Miraphone. Similar shape to that of the 186 tuba. His bell does go the wrong way, but... with us sitting next to the tubas now it looks like my bell goes the wrong way.
