    Wessex Maly for sale

I bought the Wessex Maly 2 years ago for a trip overseas. It does indeed fit in the overhead compartment and has integrated back pack straps which is very helpful for travel. It has a tiny ding on one of the slides otherwise the horn is in excellent shape and is a head turner when you pull it out at a gig. Reason for selling is I have since bought a full size euphonium and don’t need the little horn. I would like to get $700.00 for the horn which is half price of a new one.

I've been trying to sell my Maly, which is newer and in better shape than yours, but maybe I'm asking too much. How much did you sell it for? Did you get more than one potential buyer? Thanks.

                  Hey Little Jimmy
I sold it for $700 and I paid for shipping. I typically offer a used horn for half of new. I used it for a few years and then decided to take the plunge for a real euphonium.

                    Hi Drew

I'm curious--was more than one person interested in the Maly?

                    Thanks.

I bought the baby euph from Andrew.

He shipped promptly, and it arrived in great condition.

This is the first time I've played a Maly, and I'm impressed with it. Fit, finish, action, all above average.

As for as playing it goes, it does so easily. Simply put, it is fun to work it.

The intonation is good, but it is very easy to lip it all over the place, just don't push it too hard.

Air that fills my Besson will overpower the Maly and the tamber suffers.

The tone is certainly different from a full-on euph, but it is more mellow than my York Tenorhorn.

It's first gig will be at the Tombstone Tuba Christmas next month. It ought to fit in just fine.

                      Dennis
