If a bell up with valves on top configuration is desired, consideration may also be given to a used Besson 3-valve compensating euphonium. Depending on the year of manufacture, this horn came with either a British (Euro) mouthpiece receiver (typically before 1974) or a large receiver. These horns produce warm, robust tones and can be found within the $1,500 budget.

If you (Name_Plate) are up for a 2 1/2 hour drive to Maryland, here is a $1,700 (or best offer) professional-level Besson 3+1 compensating New Standard in a frosted silver finish with bright highlights (local pick up only - Frederick, Maryland) - use some haggerty’s spray-on silver polish and this one should look spectacular.

    UPDATE: SOLD.
