FS: 1974 Besson New Standard (767) 3+ 1 Compensating Euphonium

After collecting a number of Besson’s New Standards, I have decided to liberate one of the euphoniums to a new owner.

Beautiful professional-level euphonium in a frosted silver finish with bright silver highlights. Exceptional condition!

The euphonium has an 11” bell, large shank mouthpiece receiver, new Besson springs/felts/spacers/spring dampers, and original hard-shell case. There are two thin lines inside the bell where the silver finish has been rubbed (circled in associated photo). Horn is in top playing condition, never any major damage or repairs – purchased from the original owner. Serial number: 565XXX.

Asking price is $3,500 plus shipping costs. (Note: Shipping is limited to the 48 contiguous states.)

Please contact me if you have any questions.

        Large shank receiver?

Do you have photos of the pistons?

Yes sir - this euphonium has a large shank mouthpiece receiver. Besson introduced the large size on the New Standard Model 767 in 1974 - all original.

Here is a link describing the evolution from the British (euro) sized mouthpiece receiver to the large size from Senior Member ‘fsung’-

Additionally, here is a thread further addressing the size change in 1974 by Moderator ‘daruby’-

I will take then post photographs of the pistons.
