Update: I re-soldered the bridge that binds the leadpipe to the bell and eliminated the play and noise of the piston guides by coating them with a thin layer of two-component epoxy resin, now it's perfect. By the way, a new purchase will arrive later this month and it will be a surpraise. I can anticipate that is a Wessex, let's see if anyone guesses.

Hmm, let's see.... Perhaps a nice Dolce? …. Naah!

May be a lovely Festivo? … Proly…. Nah....

Ah yes.... How couldn't I think of it before... How 'bout a lil' prancing brand spankin' new Sinfonico in its uberfetching Silver&Copper livery?! … Me thinks that's more like it!

    Hello everybody,
an update on the 1973 Besson new standard bought last year: I replaced the noisy metal piston guides with nylon ones (which I was able to find thanks to the indications found here), replacement of the original keys with the more comfortable ones of the Sovereign, plating palladium valve caps and slides and welding of the false right hand support tube for a more ergonomic set-up, especially when played while marching. Tell me what you think.
    Best wishes
    Franz

Franz, the NS looks great! The finger buttons have to be more comfortable than the original. Congrats.

Hello everyone, I'm about to complete the purchase on behalf of my chair mate of the band of this beautiful 1967 Besson class A New Standard in wonderful condition (there are signs of wear on the pistons in some places where the chrome has come off, but the compression is still excellent), at a more than good price of €800 including shipping. It seems that lately I've been dedicating myself to buying these vintage instruments that seem indestructible over time and that, to my ears, sound great without envying anything from more recently built ones. Tell me what you think and good music to all.

Interesting dealer and owner stampings. Also the prominent "Class A" markings missing from those over here.
