    Adams Sonic

OK, so this video has almost convinced me to order an Adams Sonic. I just love the sound the performer gets on the Sonic!

Years ago I argued for a non-compensating professional level euphonium on this site. I guess Adams was listening.

The music I'm playing these days never really needs a compensating euphonium.

    Hey John,

Thanks for the post and the link to the Sonic video. Some excellent playing by both the euphonium player (Mauro Martins) and the piano player (Bernardo Pinhal). The Sonic sounds wonderful. I am impressed by the horn and the player both. After owning my Adams E3 for over 5 years, I feel quite certain that anything coming out of the Adams factory is going to be rock solid and special. If my budget only went to the Sonic's price, I would have no problem ordering that horn without ever playing it first!!

I wish I could record myself to sound like I think I sound. The recording you posted of Mauro is professionally done, no doubt. But even saying that, the Sonic does indeed sound terrific. I hope you order one so we can hear from you all about it.

So I ordered one. The shop I placed the order with said Adams was going to make 12 in September, and I could get one from that allocation. If all goes well, I'll have it in October sometime.
