    FS: Antique Baritone-Euphonium - Rotary Valves - 1880-ish

I just HAD to list this! It looks like a fun horn and is pretty cheap. There is some lovely scrollwork on it, and while the seller doesn't know much about it, the valve slides look like this is a Bb instrument. It's either kind of a conical baritone or smallish euphonium or whatever else they might have called it then. European. Starting bid is $240 and buy it now for $350, with only $25 for shipping.

    SOLD FOR $240
I hope someone here got this. Would love to hear more once the horn arrives!

The valve mechanism with adjustable clocksprings looks like Cerveny, but other makers in this region used this, too. With or without paying patent fees, who knows? For the horseshoe bumperplate on the valve tops I would date it propably more early 1900s. The ornamental style was en vogue until the 1930s. The inlayed valve paddles are a very special feature, maybe the maker can be found through them.

It looks beautiful. I have a similar looking horn but with regular rotor mechanism and less ornate braces. Mine was listed as a Euphonium at the time, but when I received it, it turned out to be a Bb tenorhorn; considerably smaller than a Euphonium/Baritone. As this listing does not mention any dimensions, be aware that this could be the same.
