Question FS: UPDATED PRICE - King 4-Valve Double-Bell Euphonium - Restored

UPDATE: This King is in beautiful condition after a restoration (including the pistons). The small bell is gold inside. Overall finish is satin silver with bright highlights and logo engraving. It is a top-valve model with a left-hand 4th (small bell) valve (situated so small hands should be able to operate the 4th with no problem). Hard case is included and looks to be in good, solid shape. Starting bid is $1,499.

    NO LONGER AVAILABLE.

  2. This is still listed as the separate buy it now, but also has been relisted as an auction and starts at $1499.

Thanks for pointing that out. I updated the listing.

I often don't have a chance to check these listing more than once a week or so, so it is helpful when you point out changes like this!

I think you're correct. It usually happens, I suppose, because the seller found a buyer from somewhere else (not eBay).

That listing was from quinntheeskimo. In that past I know (from personal experience) that he was contacting buyers who inquired via eBay, and he tried to convince them to buy directly (thereby cheating eBay of their fees for their platform, and in this case possibly cheating me for the royalty I would get to help run this forum). That's why I typically avoid posting his listings (didn't notice this was his, although on such a nice old horn I might have listed it anyway)

As far as I know Quinn has treated his customers well. But if he is again trying to bypass eBay after using them for advertising, he is cheating the system.

  6. If you want me to avoid listing his sales I can, just let me know.

  7. Quinn has a real storefront business these days in the Seattle area. He DOES sell a lot through eBay, but it is fair for him to sell direct. I have purchased from him before and found him reputable.

Totally agree, and I was allowing for that to have happened legitimately. But I'm a "once burned" kind of guy. Several years ago I had been listing his stuff, but then I noticed his listings had graphics (not plain text, which would have been more detectable by automated systems) that had an email and phone number. I called him about a particular item, and he offered me a discount for buying direct. That was against eBay policy, and I know he corrected it at some point, but it had been that way for quite a while.

When I look now I see no sign of contact info on his eBay store so he is presumably following the rules.
