    FS: Interesting 3-Valve Bell-Front with 3rd-Valve Trigger

This looks a bit like an Olds Artist, but I can't be sure. I THINK the 3rd-valve trigger was an add-on - I don't recall any model like this in the catalogs. I think it is an Olds because of the nickel-siver (I assume) bell top. Bidding starts at 10 bucks, so this could be a fun hobby horn! The seller has a 100% positive rating.

    SOLD FOR $100!

Reminds me of an Olds Studio that I owned (sans trigger, though)

I'm a little hazy on the model names, but the 2-tone bell, bell angle, and valve angle all look like Olds.

This is an Olds Studio model. I saw one recently with the third valve trigger and searched the old catalogs, and it turns out that Olds did offer the three and four valve Studio models with a trigger as a factory option.

Nice horns. They were quite popular in the Southern California schools back when I was a student. My junior high had the Ambassador models and the high school had a set of the Studios.

    Arul,

Thanks for that extra insight! It was a cleverly-designed device from what I can see. Maybe it was a Zig Kanstul innovation.

Yep, I agree. And the geometry, ferrules, and valve caps & buttons all say Olds.
Mine had a removable bell, so easier to store & transport.
They were step-ups from the Ambassadors, iirc, so this one has probably been thoroughly played - i.e. I'd be mighty surprised if the valves weren't worn down to base metal in spots. Probably more curio than player, unless someone's willing to pay for a valve job.
