I'm wondering how many of my fellow euphers have a special ringtone on your cell phone with a euphonium theme? I've had one for the past few years assigned to any contacts in the band I play in. It's the first 30 seconds of Stephen Mead's 'Rush Hour' from his CD "Euphonium Magic - Vol III". I DO own all three volumes of "Euphonium Magic".

Well, I don't have a ring tone with a euphonium theme; but I do have one from what I regard as one of the best examples of military music ever written: Прощание славянки (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Farewell_of_Slavianka). Not only is it a great piece of music, but as a ring tone it's virtually impossible to ignore:

I have been using this as my ringtone. Yes, it's from anime, but it's not an "anime" sounding piece. It's a brass and double bass quartet piece I believe. Euph, trumpet, tuba and double bass.

I have two ringtones, but neither one of them is euphonium related. My phone is on buzz 99% of the time anyway.
The first is a silly (no offense to yodelers) tune that makes me happy: https://youtu.be/T5ShPl86NCE
The second one is also a funny tune, but this specific arrangement/recording features my dad, who passed away in november 2019, on trombone: https://youtu.be/SFZnObs4_zg
My morning alarm is a tune that starts calm with a beautiful trumpet melody and gets a little fiercer in the middle, then ends quietly again: https://youtu.be/Oib1Rj0BahILast edited by MarChant; 04-06-2021, 10:11 AM.

Interesting ringtones shared. Thanks.
I think if I had the Yodeler ringtone on my phone and selected (tongue in cheek) I might keep it on vibrate.Rick Floyd

Bill Evans Trio--Gloria's Step from the famous Village Vanguard 1961 afternoon.
The first ten measures--two five-bar phrases.
I have tried to play this tune but with the five-bar phrases and the totally unconventional
chord progression, I never tried it in public.
Obviously not a euphonium ringtone, but listening to Bill Evans play anything was always a rewarding experience.
Last time I saw him live was in Bloomington, IN in 1975. Wound up sitting a couple of booths away from him and Eddie Gomez
at the Waffle house post-concert.
I was dead shocked that Bill Evans was playing in the town claiming to have "the world's greatest music school" but that school
had nothing to do with his presence--he played in a small club off the downtown square. No master class, no hang with the jazz students...
BE was a bit of a recluse, but he and David Baker (who ran the IU jazz program then) were acquainted.

If anyone from my contacts calls me, my phone rings (the ringtone is my Mustang Boss 302 doing a high-speed dash from 0-60, I know, I should have some euphonium thing, but boy does that Mustang sound awesome !!). On the other hand, if the call is from a non-contact, the ring tone for that type of call is an audio track that is completely silent. I don't hear it, and if it is a legitimate caller, after a short bit the caller gets my recorded message saying if you are selling something or are a robo-caller or anything like that, hang up, otherwise, please leave me a message and I will get back to you in the fullness of time. Keeps me from popping up every time the phone rings. This is the only method that keeps me from totally throwing my phone in the toilet.John Morgan
