Thread: Praise You (Multitrack)

  1. Praise You (Multitrack)

    Hi All,

Made another multitrack. Hope you can appreciate it!

    Thanks for listening....

Euphonium: Adams E3 Custom Series (SS Bell)
    Trombone: Benge 175F

  2. Loved it, thanks for sharing! I am intrigued by the multitrack recording process, but know nothing about it. The flugelhorn and euphonium sound really nice together. I have been trying to pick up flugelhorn as a second instrument. I think I get a nice sound on it, but this recording kind of demonstrates to me that my upper range still needs a lot of work.

I too enjoy the humor in your multitracks.

Question - Does the piece call for a lot of lip work? I noticed several times when the notes seemed to be changing, but the image on screen did not change the valves. So I figured that either the video and sound had gotten out of alignment, or that the piece used a lot of lip work. If so, nice job playing cleanly when the note changes and all you have to do it with is your embouchure. That takes practice (smile)!

Pretty sure that is multitrack recording, i.e., recording one part, then taping another part along with (over) the first, etc. You see him play one part, but he has already recorded another which you are hearing also.

  8. Thanks for all the nice comments guys!

And John, you are right. You can hear me play 5 parts. (3x euph, 2x trombone) my mate plays 3 trumpets parts, 1 flugelhorn and the Bb tuba
