Joplin: Euphonium Sounds - A Music Lesson within a Rag!

This is one of my early arrangements, which I jumped on as soon as I saw the title! It is somewhat challenging technically, but not too bad. The music lesson hidden within is that the first few notes of the first theme cover all the 16th notes in a beat, but do so by trading between bass and upper voices. The upper 3 players have the "afterbeats" and when done correctly you should hear an even bounce between the "downbeat" and "afterbeat." The usual tendency is for the afterbeats to be just a bit late (mental/physical reaction time, I think), which creates a "swing" effect that is not wanted here. I explain at the start of the video, and then there is a recording of the Atlantic Tuba Quartet (same people as the Coast Guard Tuba Quartet).
