Dear Lord and Father of Mankind - Sparke Arrangement

Thanks again to those who opined on my balance experiments for the first half of this piece. I think I found a good compromise that did not involve turning my back on the listeners! Here is the final result:

This is one of the more tender selections in Sparke's collection of hymns. There is a solo book with both bass and treble clef parts, which also has a CD accompaniment if you don't have a pianist handy. You can get the piano book separately.

That was really nice, Dave (and Sara). I hope Sara knows that she is a star, also! Based on this and I think another hymn I heard you play, I ordered the music (euphonium/CD and piano) books. I ordered them 21 days ago, and got a message from Sheet Music Plus that they are on the way. Everyday since (Oct 21), when I check tracking, they have been accepted in the Netherlands, and that's it! Talk about a slow boat from China (Netherlands in this case)!! I am hoping they arrive soon. I did send Sheet Music Plus an inquiry, and they said the wait is due to COVID-19.

In any event, I will be happy to get those and play some in church. I'm already on the hook for some Christmas playing with the organist at a church in Rapid City. Some of these might fit in well.

Ah, very nicely done Dave! The dynamics of the first portion were perfect.

Thanks, John! And I think you'll find the book very useful. There are 2 or 3 hymns that don't fit our church, but I've gotten a lot of mileage from the rest. Holy Holy Holy is the most fun and most difficult. Even so, it is not a huge challenge.

Thanks, Rick! I was pleased with the balance. It's a little guesswork because a combination of safely-low recording levels and a weak internal amplifier on the recorder makes it impractical to do a balance check on the spot.
