Background: I recently got back into playing music.

I recently listened to a video of Demondrae Thurman detailing the three types of embouchures brass players use.

1. top Lip buzzes the bottom lip (TLBBL)
2. both lips buzz each other
3. bottom lip buzzes the top lip

For Thurman, his playing was most optimal when his top lip buzzed his bottom lip. I quickly picked up this technique and experienced positive results in my tone. I found better control in being able to free buzz and better clarity in my sound. My embouchure has been firm throughout my limited register; I'm getting back into the groove. I'm a couple of days into the new technique and discovered that I was forming a "smiley" embouchure. This has been a result of fatigued upper facial muscles. I feel the upper side of my embouchure tense up and the smile creep up. I'm not engaging the lower part of my face enough to bring my corners down. Are there any experiences anyone has to share with a smile embouchure or this TLBBL technique.
