    I refuse to accept that!

  4. Amazing.
And such an effortless demeanour. Almost looks bored. When he gets a few bars rest it's a casual wipe of the nose and then ho-hum, back to playing. Unreal.

  5. I know Dan from my summer trips to Wales. He is a terrific young Welsh lad! Dan is at least 6'6" and 300+ lbs. He is immensely strong, which is quite apparent in his stamina and ability to perform this piece. He practices constantly, lives his life for music and is one of the most dedicated musicians I have ever met. He just finished his degree and is just an amazing performer, having moved to the 2nd seat at Black Dyke at the age of 21 after playing 2nd for Cory and solo for Tredegar. He also has an encyclopedic knowledge of details and history of brass banding.

This sets a new standard of difficulty and just makes me want to bow down and say "I am not worthy!" with the utmost respect. Dan is just 26 years old, think of where he will be in years to come?

And of course moved to solo euphonium in Dyke when Gary Curtin moved to Fodens in 2016.

This is so amazing! He made everything sound to effortless and so open!! He mentioned Carmine Caruso's Musical Calisthenics and I just had to check that book out!

That was impressive. I also love the finish on his euphonium. Thanks Dave for posting.
