I have been listening to what she has been putting up on YouTube during the shutdown. Her sound is a classic euph sound and her playing is very musical.

Illevold is a very lyrical player.
Something I found a little interesting was the effusiveness over the Shires Q41. Illevold is a Shires artist, so kind words are to be expected, but also circled back to it later in the interview.

Shires' own marketing copy describe it as a value-for-money horn (although at US $6K, I am a touch confused by this...)

I have to confess that part of the tepid mood may have been that I had very high expectations going in. But also, it was an early production model and may have improved since.

In any case, I saw one post of Bente's that said she feels the horn makes it easier to do what she wants and to sound the way she wants. That's what we all want, but a single horn may not do that for everyone.

It has seemed like a trend that a lot of folks who play Shires now are people who played Willsons.
