    Interesting experience

I laid off practice for a couple of weeks, and when I started again yesterday my playing had somehow become much better... fewer mistakes and more expressive. I can't explain it. Has anyone else had a similar experience?

Never underestimate the importance of a rest day...or in your case, rest weeks.

Yes, that seems to be the case too! Sometimes it feels like I've hit a stone wall and my tone and everything else starts suffering. Taking a break for 1-5 days seem to clear stuff up and I would feel like I sound better. Perhaps the muscles get to really relax and recover, perhaps not playing for a few days allow me to forget and "reset"some of the possible habits of my embouchure that arose from being worn out?
