ACT FAST! Besson New Standard in Silver for Great Price

The horn here may be from the 1960's according to the seller, but it has a large mouthpiece receiver. Perhaps it was swapped out at some point. It's in very good shape, including the pistons, from what I can see. Starting bid is $750 and the BUY IT NOW PRICE IS $1,500. This should go quickly!

THE HORN SOLD ALREADY (NO SURPRISE) - CONGRATS TO THE WINNER!

Message from seller, “What I was told when I bought last year was that the composer James Curnow owned this horn and he had the receiver changed, I don’t know when though...I found it on the Dave Werden site...”

Ah, thanks. I was aware when Jim Curnow was selling it. There had been some damage to the horn before he got it, but he had it worked over by a fine shop near Chicago (I might assume Schilke). He had the leadpipe replaced and says the top Eb is now in tune instead of being sharp.

I hope so too! To me, the fact that Jim Curnow owned it would make it a more special horn to own. He's a fixture in the low brass world and a really nice buy besides.
