    ITEC 2021 Cancelled

Just in case anyone hasn't seen our announcement yet, here it is in full:

    ITEC 2021 CANCELLATION NOTICE

The Executive Board of the International Tuba Euphonium Association regrets to announce that they have decided to cancel ITEC 2021. Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, which forced us to cancel all of our 2020 regional conferences, complications have made it no longer feasible to plan an ITEC for 2021.

However, we have also decided to reschedule most of the cancelled 2020 regional conferences to 2021, essentially "rebranding" 2021 as a regional year. Although this reverses the plan of holding international conferences (ITECs) on odd-numbered years in preparation for our 50th anniversary in 2023, it provides an opportunity for the regional conferences that were cancelled to take place a year later. Those hosts put a lot of time and energy into the preparations for those events and we would like to offer them the chance to see their plans come to fruition.

Plans for the year 2022 have not been finalized and are subject to change, but it may resemble the "super-regional" year where some regional conferences will be held in the United States, as well as events sponsored by ITEA in other countries. More details will be released when confirmed.

A call for proposals to host ITEC 2023 are now being accepted. If you are interested in hosting ITEC 2023 or would like to suggest a possible site, please contact John Manning, ITEA Conferences Coordinator.

ITEA is committed to holding regular regional and international conferences to educate, promote our instruments, share our music and research, and foster fellowship for our members. We value the safety and welfare of our members and feel that these decisions, although difficult to make, are appropriate at this time. Thank you for your continued support, flexibility and understanding during this challenging period."

    Sean,

Any notion where ITEC 2023 is going to be? I thought I had heard Arizona, but I can't seem to find anything on it after a brief look around the Internet.

    Thanks.

I am answering my own question. ITEC 2023 will be at Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona (by Phoenix). Deanna Swoboda (tuba) will be the host. Don't know the dates, but suspect May or June timeframe.
