Hello Dennis (smile). Would you give us an update on how you are doing my friend? You have been in our prayers.

I have a family member who broke her neck under similar circumstances. No shattered vertebrae though. Hope you are getting the rest and recuperation you need.

I'm back home now, dealing with a blood clot issue. Otherwise feeling OK and doing light PT.

A full halo brace is no fun, at least it will come off in June.

Again, thanks to all of you for the kind words. It really makes me feel special.

    Hi Folks,

The first spinal repair done was an odontoid screw in my C2 to have the broken tip play nice but my musculature pulled it apart again.

I just completed more surgery (7 hours) that involved 4 screws and some fusion to set thing ruggedly right. 2 months dealing with this now and I elected for the more robust treatment.

6 to 8 more weeks in the halo and I should be well on the way to normal with no paralysis.

Take care Dennis. Sounds like a tough road ahead still. Thoughts and prayers for full recovery.

Get well, my friend. At least with this crappy coronavirus going around, perhaps you wouldn't be going many places, so good time to recuperate. Sure sorry to see you have to go through this.

  9. Dennis,

Oh no! Sorry you had to have surgery again and still are in the halo. Please stay safe and well. We will keep you in our thoughts.

In Arizona, this is a good time to keep your quarantine. We went through it here in Massachusetts and as of now, things are a bit better, but the Commonwealth is not terribly open yet.

My thoughts were more about dealing with a halo during an Arizona summer. Yuck! As a Californian, I think that I have some appreciation for what that is like.

So to Dennis - Keep cool, keep getting better, and I will keep you in my prayers (smile).
