For the people that own or have played the Wessex Duplex...
I'm curious how it plays in the lower register (pedal through compensating range) - especially through the Trombone bell. Does it have a "Bass Trombone" type sound?
Thanks for any input!

Mine has a bright tenor trombone sound, and although I can get almost as far down in pitch as the main instrument, the tone is not like a bass trombone.
I like my Duplex very much.
Typically, the small bell side of a double bell euphonium sounds most like an English baritone. The bell is usually smaller than a modern bass trombone and the bore is usually smaller as well. OTOH, the tubing is slightly more conical than a tenor trombone.
