Thread: Mead mouthpiece question

  1. Steve's latest Q and A (on YouTube) talks about the Alliance mouthpieces. He talk about why he prefers the Ultra.

    He also said Alliance and Wick mouthpieces are made in the same Wick factory, for many years I thought they were competitors!

    His new mouthpiece sounds really good. I'm pretty sure I'll be ordering one when it becomes available (I'm currently on a SM4U).

    Hi Dave!

    I think Steve's new mouthpiece is actually different than the XR series - the XR is a slightly modified ultra with a rounder rim, but his "new" piece I think was still under development with Denis Wick.

    The SM4XR is an absolutely incredible mouthpiece! I have personally seen and tested the new Steven Mead Prototype Mouthpiece I can say it is a really incredible mouthpiece which I am really looking forward to seeing produced.
