    Looking for Compensating Euph

Hi! New here, but I’m a college music major who is looking into investing in a personal horn. I’m kind of tight on budget but am open to a lot of brands, ages, and conditions! If you have a horn that is looking for a loving owner who will use it lots I’m your guy! Only true compensating horns please!

Maybe you can reach out to http://www.dwerden.com/forum/showthr...m#.XkMqjbfQiUk. Besson Sovereigns are good euphoniums.

You should read through the Euph Brands section to see about Wessex and JP Sterling euphoniums. That would suggest possible new horns in the range from 1200-3000.

There are at least 4 decent used higher-level horns on the used market (plus a York in this forum's For Sale section):

$3,353.59: Cerveny Emperor. Very fine condition, silver. Huge sound:

$3999 (current bid): Yamaha YEP-642Tii - lacquer, very fine condition. Has a trigger.

      https://www.ebay.com/itm/Yamaha-Mode...T/333511256727

$5,000: Yamaha YEP-642 in lacquer. Very nice condition.

$5,325: No model listed, but it is probably a 2900. Silver plated, nice condition based on photos.

I have a superb Schiller Elite for $700 plus shipping. U.S. only. I bought it three weeks ago from jimlaabmusicstore.com for $885 new on sale.

I’m a trombone player of 65 years switching to euph because I can’t hold a trombone steadily any longer. I’m old. So I bought this horn. But While better to hold still than trombone, still not good enough. I now have a Wessex Festivo that is a horn with front facing valves. It’s much easier to hold still than a top valve horn.

So in actuality this horn is still new. It compares favorably with horns costing $3 to 4k. If interested pm me.

As a trombone player, I’m naturally picky about intonation! This horn has superior intonation.

        Joe
