    What are they playing?

    Our local historical society posted this photo. Since we've also started a local marching band for the 4th of July parade, we sort of feel a kinship with these gentlemen. We started looking at the low brass section and were wondering what sort of horns they were playing back in the 1880-1890s...

    To my eye they look like Saxhorns.

    I haven't - I just got back into playing a year ago after about a 20 year hiatus. One of the best things I've ever done. I'd love to hear more about it.
