I bought a 378 in about 1995, and a 479 about 10 years ago. I sold the 378 shortly after buying the 479, and have always regretted it. The 378 has a smaller bore through the 4th valve, and it has a different feel altogether. The 479 feels and plays like a larger horn, which is not necessarily what I wanted. I currently play an Adams E1 euph, and the Hirsbrunner seldom gets used. Intonation on both Hirsbrunner horns was excellent.
